I feel numb.

You typed that into a search bar, probably in the middle of the night, because you needed someone to understand it.

Not fix it. Not explain it away. Just understand it.

So let's start there.

Numb is not the same as sad.

Sad has a shape. You can point at it. Numb is the absence of shape. It is the volume of your own life turned all the way down.

You watch yourself do things. Eat. Work. Answer messages. Smile at the right moments. And none of it lands. Nothing reaches you.

Things that used to matter to you do not matter now, and you cannot remember when that changed.

You are not being dramatic. You are not making it up. This is a real thing, and it has a name, and you just said it out loud, maybe for the first time.

Sometimes numbness is what a mind does when feeling everything would be too much to carry.

It is a kind of protection. The system turns the volume down so you can keep going. So you can get through the day, and the next one.

That does not make you broken. It does not make you lazy. It does not make you ungrateful for the life you have.

It means something in you has been carrying too much, for too long, mostly alone.

Because I know. I feel this too.

It is always there, under the surface, like something waiting in the deep ocean. Most people never see it. Some days I almost forget it is down there.

Some days feel lighter. And some days drag me back to it.

And it hurts. That is what no one says. The feeling hurts.

And sometimes the thoughts do not stop. They circle. They get loud at night, when everything else goes quiet.

Or you feel like you should care, and you just don't. And that feels disturbing, because caring is supposed to be the easy part.

You see other people around you with goals and dreams, and you don't have them. Or you do, and they seem so far out of reach that wanting them feels like a joke you are playing on yourself.

If any of that sounded familiar, then this page found the right person.

Maybe there isn't a point. Maybe there is.

I'm not going to pretend to know, and I'm not going to insult you with a poster slogan.

But the only way we'll know more is if we see tomorrow.

So stay for tomorrow. Not forever. Not for some big reason. Just tomorrow. One is enough to start with.

Small things. Not cures. Just things.

If it ever gets to be too much. Right now. Tonight.

There are people whose whole job is to listen, and to help, and they want to. Not a script. A person.

You do not have to be sure it is bad enough. If you are wondering whether to reach out, that wondering is enough.

Give your pain to me.

Write it here. The thing you have not said out loud. The thing with no shape.

It comes to me, a real person, and I read them. Sometimes it is just about someone hearing you, or even the prospect of it, and that is enough for tonight.

No name. No email address. Nothing that says who you are. Just your words, out of your head and into the world.
